As the century progressed, architecture became increasingly elaborate. High Victorian architecture was ostentatious and lavish in its decoration.
Details were reused from all over the world creating an unprecedented eclectic style. In Ireland, Celtic Revival took elements from Ireland’s past, such as the round tower, and created a style that became popular for churches.
