Contemporary 1950 - Present
The Future
A
new house is expected to last for several generations. The reality is
that shoddy workmanship and inferior or unsuitable products can mean that
problems arise after a decade or two. Regular maintenance will help reduce
the major expenditure of extensive repairs. Conservatories, kitchen extensions
and roof space conversions are all popular ways to increase space. These
alterations should be sensitive to the style of the building.

So
what will the home of the future look like? Will it be more or less eco-friendly?
The 'smart' home will be fitted with dozens of labour saving gadgets and
the chances are that eco-issues will be to the forefront of design.
