The house

This development of four houses was designed to assimilate the very different ages and lifestyles of the various owners. The straightforward plan, with variations, gives flexibility to the living areas.

Details

The scheme avoids the use of plastic windows and recyclable materials are employed throughout and high quality joinery, metal and stonework were sourced.

The lack of DoE storm drainage led to the clever channelling of water to strategically positioned flower beds.

The development was the winner of a UK Housing Design Award. The judges found the “settlement very much at ease in the landscape of North Down”.
